Tigermoth joy flight

$160 pp

Step back in time and fly in a beautiful de Havilland Tiger Moth for an open-air experience you'll never forget. Book a 30 minute joy flight for Friday afternoon, Saturday afternoon, or Sunday morning.

OR take a half hour Technam Trial Flight for $150 pp

There will be something for everyone at the 2024 Airshow. 

In addition to the airside program there will be lots of displays related to the 'celebrating aviation, heritage and community' theme:

THE CRAFTERS FAIR


Browse through the Bellman Hangar where Artisans, Collectors and Crafters will display or demonstrate their skills, interests and wares.


Meet the makers during the day and see them at work with demonstrations from 10-11am and again at 1-2pm.


Be inspired, mesmerised or fall in love with that special piece to take home with you.

    Astrophotographer Ryder Byrnes will have his amazing deep space images and telescopes on display.  This highly technical craft will mesmerise you with closer views of stars such as The Orion Nebula and NGC6188 (image ‘The Fighting Dragons of Ara’)

    Riverstoned Cane Rods and Flyfishing Art

    David shares his family tradition that goes back to the Snowy Mountains in the 1890’s. The feeling of catching a fish with a rod he has made himself still amazes him. David was taught his craft by master rod maker, Jeff Wagner (Ohio USA). And both Ken and David are passionate about teaching the craft of rod making. Be inspired and you can book into one of their rod construction workshops.

    Rae Talbot spends half of the year travelling Australia collecting special bits for her craft. She will display the old craft of Cyanotype printing which develops in the sun. Along with displays of Australian inspired handcrafted silver jewellery and timber products.

    Katelynn Clark will display the more modern art of digital etching. Her custom made items are a great keep sake or gift for someone special including yourself.

FOOD COURT
Good Chef, Bad Chef’s Tim Bone will headline the Airshow's food line up with Tim’s Toasties.
Tim makes his famous toasties from only the best produce and ingredients including a special
Airshow toastie sponsored by Nhill's own Luv-A-Duck. Indulge in this scrumptious hearty meal
made by Tim himself.

Other local vendors and groups will offer you plenty of choices with Rotary and the Karen
community cooking Stir Fry again supported by Luv-A-Duck. American Style Hot Dogs, Hotbox
Kebabs, Mexican Nachos and the good old Aussie BBQ.

For dessert we have waffles, brownies and donuts, freshly squeezed juices, home made lemonade
and cookies, soft serve ice creams and the Wimmera’s best coffee vans.
You won’t know what to eat next!
ACCOMMODATION
RV accommodation is available on site by donation. No need to book ahead. Just come and select a spot in the designated RV Camping area.  Make sure you book your Airshow ticket on line, or get one at the gate , and display it on your windscreen.

Other accommodation is available in Nhill and surrounding towns. For details on accommodation go to the Visit Hindmarsh website
We recommend booking your accommodation as early as possible to avoid missing out!

SAFETY 
Scooters and skateboards will not be permitted. 
No animals allowed
This is an alcohol -free event.
A First Aid facility will be available.

CAR PARKING
Gates will open at 8.30am.
Parking is available on site from 8.30 am - 5pm.
Gate 1: VIP, Disabled and Exhibitors 
Gate 2: General public parking

Parking attendants will give directions on the day.
Additional parking may also be available offsite with a shuttle bus service operating throughout the day.
Pass outs will be available.

ACCESSABILITY
We welcome all visitors to the Airshow and Nhill aerodrome. Every effort has been made to make the site as accessible as possible, but visitors should note that there are some uneven surfaces throughout the site.  Limited seating is available both inside and outside the hangars, but visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Disabled amenities are available on site.

Car parking is available for accredited state disabled permit pass holders only (directions will be given at the disabled ticketing point at the aerodrome entrance gate).

Visitors are permitted to bring their own mobility scooters.
There are no golf buggies available for hire, but transport from the parking areas to the main Airshow event may be available.
